Why Choose the Half Day Bighorn Sheep Canyon?
This is a perfect half day of fun for first time rafters and for families with younger children. You get the best of both worlds while experiencing the excitement of whitewater rafting.
The Run Down
Once you’re in the boat and heading down the Arkansas River, you will enjoy watching for bighorn sheep as you prepare to navigate the splashy rapids like Five Points, Spike Buck, and Cowgirl Up. This family friendly trip will provide adventures for the entire family. After traveling about 9 miles down the river, you’ll load up on the bus and head back to Raft Masters. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs and view the action-packed photos taken of you and your group on the biggest rapid of your trip.

Availability
This trip is available 7 days/week with an 8:15 am and 12:45 pm check-in time from Memorial Day weekend though Labor Day. Please call for Spring and Fall season check-in times.
Check In
Please see above for your corresponding check-in time. Failure to arrive within 15 minutes of your check-in time may result in the cancellation of your trip.
Complimentary Lunch
Lunch is complementary Memorial Day weekend though Labor Day. Lunch is not available before Memorial Day weekend or after Labor Day. A grilled hot dog or hamburger is included with all trips, fresh from Raft Masters’ Eddy Out Cafe, provided daily from 11 AM to 12:30 PM
Free Photos
Free photos are provided on all trips from Memorial Day weekend though Labor Day. Photos are not available before Memorial Day weekend or after Labor Day. There will be a photographer at the river to get photos of your group once you are on the water. FREE digital downloads are available for guests after the trip.
Age Requirements
This trip is available for ages 5 and up (minimum of 50 pounds recommended). Please call our office if you have questions about this requirement.
What Else Does Raft Masters Provide?
Raft Masters offers complimentary use of wetsuits, splash jackets, and river shoes. Helmets and life jackets are also required and provided.
What to Bring
Please bring sunglasses, a sunglasses retainer (i.e. Chums), sunscreen, lip balm, towel, and a dry change of clothes for after your trip. These are all available for purchase in our gift shop.
How Many Guests Per Boat?
We typically fit 6-8 guests per boat depending on water levels and trip selection.

Rail & Raft
The historical train will bring you back in time as you travel on old pathways along the most rafted river in the United States. Then get ready for the thrills and adventures of whitewater rafting in the afternoon!
Jeep & Raft
See things from a bird’s eye view as you climb to some of Colorado’s highest peaks in a Jeep and then look at things from far below in the canyons of the Arkansas River.
Boat & Bridge
Experience all the wonders of the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park with a morning filled with either mild or wild rafting, followed by lunch at our own Eddy Out Café. After lunch, spend an enjoyable afternoon at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park.
ATV & Raft
Our ATV + Raft package gives you the experience of rafting Colorado’s most popular whitewater in the morning, and join a thrilling adventure with Play Dirty ATV tours through Texas Creek in the afternoon. Adults of all ages and children over the age of five can enjoy this fun-filled day!
