Rail and Raft - Royal Gorge Train Ride and Whitewater Rafting

All aboard the Rail and Raft experience! Join us for a day of riding the scenic and historic Royal Gorge Route Railroad and Colorado whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River.

The trip begins at 8:15 a.m. at our Canon City office. After a short ride to the Royal Gorge Route's train depot, you'll avoid the wait as we escort you onto the train to begin your 24-mile round trip journey through the 1,000-foot-deep Royal Gorge, alongside the raging Arkansas River.

Throughout, you'll have the opportunity to observe Bald Eagles, Blue Heron, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer, and flora native to the gorge.

This one-of-a-kind Colorado rail and raft adventure is a chance to combine a unique whitewater rafting experience with a slice of Rocky Mountain railroad history.

You can customize this Royal Gorge train ride to suit your budget. Choose the coach car with comfortable seats and big windows to take in the spectacular views. Or, upgrade to a dome car with an incredible glass roof that offers unobstructed views of the canyons and river.

We will be waiting at the depot when your Royal Gorge Route Railroad trip ends to take you back to Raft Masters for a delicious picnic style buffet lunch at our very own "Eddy Out Cafe".

Now it's time for your Colorado whitewater rafting adventure to begin. You'll choose an introductory 9-mile trip through the Arkansas River's Bighorn Sheep Canyon or a 12-mile challenge through the Royal Gorge.
